At Blue Ridge Animal Hospital, we are just as passionate about giving back as we are about helping to improve the lives of animals. To that end, our team regularly participates in mission trips and other charitable activities. Our goal is to make as much of a positive impact on the world around us as we can by sharing our talents and abilities with others. Below are some of the recent mission activities we have participated in.

Piedmont Women’s Center

Blue Ridge Animal Hospital has been supporting Piedmont Women’s Center in Greenville, SC since 1991. It is a Christian Crisis Pregnancy Center that also provides post-abortion counseling for both women and men. We have shown our support by sponsoring a table and attending their annual fundraising banquet every year.

Honduras Mission Trips

Dr. York has taken a vet team with her to Honduras every year from 2002 to 2012. We’ve donate our time and skills along with a medical and dental mission group called BMDMI.

Greer Community Ministries

Greer Community Ministries (GCM) is a faith based organization with the philosophy that, “no elderly, homebound or disadvantaged person in the Greater Greer area will go hungry.” BRAH has volunteered at the organization’s “Big Thursday” event for the past 4 years, and have supplied various pet supplies for the silent auction. We also help collect pet food that can be donated to their Meals on Wheels program for recipients who have pets.

China Mission Trip

The 2014 China Mission trip is scheduled for October of this year. Our practice manager, Lindsey McMakin, is going with a group to an orphanage in rural China that has many needs, including many disabled, children.
